HOLISTIC INTERVENTIONS IN PALLIATIVE CARE
This module will equip the practitioner with knowledge, understanding and skill in the principles of holistic management of patients with palliative care needs. Students will have the opportunity to critically analyse local and national guidelines and their implications for service delivery.

LYMPHOEDEMA MODULES
These modules afford the practitioner the opportunity to develop specialist clinical skills and knowledge to enhance both quality patient care and career development opportunities. Students applying for Module 2 must have completed Module 1 or be an experienced Lymphoedema Specialist. The lymphoedema degree pathway will provide the necessary skills required to treat complex cases of lymphoedema at specialist practice level through the provision of medical lymphatic drainage and multi layer bandaging

MSc MULTI-PROFESSIONAL PALLIATIVE CARE
This flexible MSc pathway is offered by Compton Hospice Education & Training Centre in association with the School of Health at the University of Wolverhampton. It provides an excellent multi-professional masters route in palliative care.
This masters degree meets the requirements of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) qualified at degree level who are seeking a specialist qualification in palliative care. �Agenda for Change� and the �Knowledge and Skills Framework� (2004) encourage senior staff to pursue studies at Level 4 and this programme provides practitioners with an avenue to this specialist level of higher education in a multi-professional context. Advanced knowledge and skills will be developed to benefit individuals with a life limiting illness.

PGCert END OF LIFE CARE
The Postgraduate Certificate in End of Life Care is a new and exciting year long course, collaboratively developed in response to recent Department of Health policy initiatives. It is open to any experienced qualified professional who is currently involved in delivering end of life care within their area of practice, and who meets the entry requirement.
This dynamic and flexible interprofessional course aims to provide students with an opportunity to develop a comprehensive academic and evidence-based approach to their work, critically exploring the provision of end of life care.
Upon successful completion of the course students will obtain a Postgraduate Certificate in End of Life Care from Keele University. The PGCert in End of Life Care will be awarded to students who successfully complete all programme modules. Additionally, programme modules may be undertaken as stand alone modules.

MANAGEMENT OF PEOPLE WITH MILD AND UNCOMPLICATED OEDEMA AND OEDEMA ASSOCIATED WITH ADVANCED MALIGNANCY
This course is assessed at Level 2 and Level 3 and is validated for 45 credits. This module will provide health care professionals the opportunity to reflect upon and focus upon developing their skills and evidence based knowledge of different patients groups with the Lymphoedema population. A personal portfolio will allow an opportunity to recognise and reflect upon your experience of working with a Lymphoedema Practitioner within a purpose built nurse lead clinic. Activities within the module will allow professionals to explore the pathology of Lymphoedema disorder, practice and health promotion / education to be explored.

Psychosocial Issues: Study in this area is designed to explore and analyse sociological issues related to dying, ethical and legal developments and to explore the assessment and management of family care issues.
Managing Pain and Distressing Symptoms: Study in this area will broaden an understanding and application of pain and symptom assessment and management in a palliative context.
Developing Communication Skills: Study in this area is designed to enhance the development of skills, knowledge and confidence in the handling of sensitive terminal care situations.

SYMPTOM MANAGEMENT IN ADVANCED DISEASE
A significant feature of this module is that it is applicable to palliative care and end of life care in any setting and is relevant to the care of patients/clients with any advanced illness or life limiting condition. The assignment enables you to focus on a symptom management issue which is pertinent to your area of practice. Your can study this module for CPD purposes as a stand alone module, or you can incorporate it into a degree.

EUROPEAN CERTIFICATE IN ESSENTIAL PALLIATIVE CARE
This eight week distance learning multi-professional programme is aimed at those working in clinical practice, who are new to specialist palliative care or who regularly look after people who have palliative care needs.
